Setup and Tear Down Responsibility
Setup belongs to the first team reffing on Court 1.
Setup responsibilities:
- The schedules will be sent to you by the league secretary. Print
them off, bring them, and post them.
- GET THERE AT 5:45
- If the closet isn't open (it should be), find the custodian
and have him open it
- Sweep the floor using the large dust mop
- Set up the net (instructions should be in the tool box)
The goal is to have the net set up *BY* 6:00, not starting *AT* 6:00.
Teardown belongs to the last team reffing (in the five-team bracket), or the
last team reffing on Court 1 (in the three-team bracket).
Teardown responsibilities:
- Take down the net
- Return hardware (hooks, chains, etc.) to the gray tool box
- Gather up the balls
- Put the balls, nets, scoreboards, tool box in the wooden cabinet
and lock it
- Put the poles and bases in the closet, then close the door (this
should lock it)
- Take the scoresheets from both courts, and send them to
Betty Lew (her address is on the sheet)
- The next day, send e-mail with the scores to Betty at
lew@tnpubs.enet.dec.com
Not being on the setup or teardown team doesn't mean you shouldn't help if
you can. If you don't know what to do, ask. It's in everyone's best interest
to get setup done quickly - it leaves more time for playing. Also, during
setup, there are to be *NO* balls in play in the gym - NO EXCEPTIONS.
Offenders may be sanctioned with a yellow card by the referee of the first
game.
