I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving Day!
It is nice to be home after traveling for the past 7 weeks. The last day for
the fall Dig For Kids program was last Wed. We had our graduation day where we
have dinner for all the kids in the program and parents and have a DJ along
with award certificates and lots of gifts for the kids. They each were given
their own volleyballs too. The next program starts in February so if anyone
wants to help out let me know. The spring program will be held at Carson High
School every Tuesday from 3-6pm. We tutor the kids for an hour and a half and then
bring them into the gym for volleyball training for the other hour and a
half. A lot of the AVP pros come and volunteer and it is a great time. If any of
you or your companies give to any charities please keep us in mind as you are
making your decisions about that before the end of the year.
Our Christmas party is next Friday December 5th. It is almost sold out again
so let me know if you want to come. We are having dinner, casino night, silent
auction items, and great raffle prizes and packages. It starts at 6:30pm and
will be at Sangria restaurant in Hermosa Beach. It costs $40 and is semiformal.
Don't forget about the January 2004 volleyball vacation trips. The first on
is on January 3-10th at Oahu, Hawaii. I love this trip as the beach is perfect
and the sunsets are incredible. We will be doing a lot of excursions and great
private dinners together too. To find out info about this trip you can call
Dave at Pacific Sports Tours at 310-798-1234 or email
dm@pacificsportstours.com. The next trip will be held on January 24-31st at club med in Paradise
Island, Bahamas. This trip will be all inclusive meaning all food and drinks etc.
are included. Once you get there you don't pay for anything else. It is a
beautiful resort and is right next to the famous Atlantis hotel. Info for this trip
can be found at http://www.vobe.ca/paradise2004/english/ or call 800-567-6617.
Both trips are a blast.
The tentative AVP schedule has us in Ft. Lauderdale, FL the first weekend of
April. As soon as I have a full schedule I will get it out to you.
See you on the beach!
